The Town of Thomaston, Board of Fire Commissioners consists of six publicly-elected officials, each of whom serves a six year term. They are not paid to serve as Commissioners. It is their responsibility to provide for the maintenance and operation of the fire station and equipment and apparatus, as well as the preparation and administration of the Department and its budgets. The Commission appoints the Chiefs, the Fire Marshals and establishes their duties. The Commissioners meet on a monthly basis at the fire station. All Commission meeting are open to the public and the input of the residents and taxpayers they represent are welcome.
